Secondly, congratulations to you John, and your family for the success Chris has had and you and your family's contributions to youth soccer. Third, much respect from a former rival soccer coach for the job you have done raising your three sons. I have seen Chris from up close and afar and the first thing I notice is his sportsmanship and class. You should be very proud. Some observations: It is funny how you and I are much alike. 1. We are almost the same age. 2. I am Catholic like you and learned about the sport of soccer from my local Catholic priest Father Kelly from Ireland at my local parish way back in 1975. 3. I am a die-hard bay area sports fan (Our Raiders will finally be good this season). 4. While my son Jamie played youth soccer against Chris it was my daughter Aja who had a pretty good athletic career (two sport star softball and lacrosse at Fresno State) that allowed me to travel a bit to watch her play sports at the highest level. 5. We both have mixed race mixed cultural kids (mine are Swiss/Italian/Chinese) and I think you would agree that mixed race kids have a unique and very attractive look to them. Hope you remember me, we had a very healthy friendly rivalry in youth soccer many years ago. So remember every time Chris scores or does something amazing on the pitch, he makes me look good because I am one of the few coaches to beat him and you.
